Step into the shoes of Mika again, who is told by a fortune teller that a major catastrophy is about to unfold, and she must find Thakbor in order to stop it. This is probably one of the more ambitious RON games available, as it includes lots of new areas, tons of great dialog, easter eggs and even political commentary!

Comments:

Cornjob: This is more of a demo and only represents 1 chapter of the complete game. However, it is already quite large, even for a RON game. The game opens as Elandra and Mika stand before the grave of Davy Jones. This is notable because the game in which Davy Jones dies hasn't even come out yet! Hopefully we'll get to see the finished game soon.

Dave: As someone who has betatested the full game, I'll tell you firsthand that "Edge" promises to be a long and exciting ride. Unfortunately, the author has put the game on hold to concentrate on schoolwork, so Watch This Space for future developments.

Walkthrough:

Cycle right-click mouse cursors and perform the following actions to complete the game. This walkthrough was created to maximize brevity and enjoyment - there are more interactions possible that add to the richness of the game.

  1. Head to the left and talk to both the executioner and the mime. Take the mime's box and a plank from the hangmans stand.
  2. Go left again and SAVE YOUR GAME. Talk to Elandra and be careful, one wrong word and it'll be impossible to win the game. Tell her that she can't mourn forever and then that you can't help her. Now talk to her again to get the glue.
  3. The glue's too dry to use so you need to heat it up. There's a microwave outside the Trite Corp building downtown (in an alley to the right of the main entrance) but you'll need a lead mask before you can use it. Take the bottle next to the building and fill it up from the river back where you started. Use the bottle on the mask, then use the mask on the lasers inside Trite Corp (enter through alley door). Now use the mask on Mika then the glue on the microwave. Use the hand icon on Mika to remove the mask.
  4. Now head back to the hangman's platform and use the glue on the trapdoor. Now take the rope. Use the rope with the plank, then use the combination on the rocks near the river. You may now cross into the main part of town.
  5. Take the glass from the post office, and enter the bar. Talk to the janitor to learn about his grenade, then take a knife from the bar. Go into the alley and use the Kyrandia nail (this is an injoke about Legend Of Kyrandia 3: Malcolms Revenge) on the jukebox to get some money which you'll soon need. Now head to Rageaholics to get the grenade, and talk to the man until he gives you a sample book (note: looking at the sample book MAY cause the game to crash, save game first). Now head to Thakbors and read the note. Take the lubricant before returning to Trite Corp. Use the glass on the lasers, then both the lubricant and the knife on the grate. Open the grate and enter it. The maze is actually pretty easy, just walk around a couple of screens till you see the key. Keep coming and going until you can get near the key, and Mika will automatically take it. Now find the door, there's one part where two paths go close to each other and you can actually cross from one onto the other even though there's no connection between them. Use the key on the lock, then open the door. Push the white thing and enter. Talk to the guard. You can't use the grenade on him because of the noise, so you need some soundproof paint from Yahtzee shop. Use the sample book and the picture in the game directory to identify the colour of the walls, and buy the paint to match (cadet blue). Now return to Trite Corp and use the paint on the wall. Use the grenade on the guard and re-enter the room. Now simply open the door.
  6. Now you're the chicken for the next bit. Try entering the bar, and you'll be thrown out. Go to the fortune teller Mika visited earlier and take the cloth. Now use the cloth on yourself to disguise yourself in the bar. Take the wallet and head to Yahtzee. Buy the ladder. Now go to the church and talk to the priest twice to get the candles. Use the ladder on Scids then the candles on the ladder. Climb the ladder and complete the first part of the game.
