Hello, dearie. This little game is my entry for MAGS September'06:
Retroparanoia.
The rules were, as far as I remember, the following:
Italic ones were not necessary, so don't worry, Mika's alive and well. And still have her head over her shoulders. But the game does start at a small island in Barents Sea.
You must have already guessed that the game is named Sixteen because of number of colours used in it. It is true, but it's also the number of inventory items not used before. That is, I got a list of 16 (sixteen) items from that huge list (I tried to pick most weirdest ones) and injected them all in game. Also note that there is no more inventory items, only sixteen weird ones. I think you'll appreciate the list now.
I also couldn't stand and added table that follows you everywhere no mather what's on top of it (ExoTec again), because the idea seem very impressive to me.
I'm sure installation is quite a simple task. You've already installed the game if you can see this. If not, just unpack the archive wherever you like and enjoy the life.
The game's interface is also quite simple. There's one button resembling Mika's pocket at top left corner of the screen. When you click it, inventory window will appear. You can choose inventory items, save, restore and quit game. Just the general pack. I believe the icons is pretty self-explanatory.
To change cursor mode use right mouse button, to activate something
with current cursor mode, click on it with left mouse button. To
examine inventory item, click it with right mouse button.
A little tip (cheat?). As the game may have some bugs, you could
find yourself outside the walkable areas thus unable to move. Pressing Ctrl-F
(short for "Fixme" - TES3, remember?) may help you in that case by
teleporting you to the nearest walk-area. All rooms have at least one
of them, so you won't be lost.
The game takes place shortly after (I believe) "Defender of the
RON". There was also mentioned that Davy Jones came back from the
dead, so it's also after "Davy Jones is Back!". There is also
mentioned that A Better Mousetrap is in near future (does that make
paradox? if yes, then Elandra's just making EVEN BETTER mousetrap)
If anyone needs
characters, backgrounds, anything from the game (anyone?), contact me.
Walk-through is it walkthrough.rar, the password is "wank-thru"
to ensure you're know what you're doing. I mean, come on, it's very
short game, you're SURELY able to finish it!
I used the following music themes in the game:
